Oncology
Oncology is the branch of medicine concerned with diagnosing and treating cancer. Because every tumour behaves differently, modern cancer care begins with accurate diagnosis and staging, often using advanced imaging such as PET-CT and MRI together with tissue analysis. On that basis, specialists from several disciplines agree on a plan that may combine surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy or radiotherapy, tailored to the type and stage of the disease and to your overall health.
Many patients and families come to Türkiye for a second opinion or for treatment, drawn by modern hospitals, experienced oncology teams and access to current diagnostic and treatment technologies. Waiting times for assessment are often short, which matters when decisions feel urgent. International patient departments are used to working with reports from abroad and to explaining each option clearly, in a language you understand.
We know that a cancer diagnosis affects the whole family. At Trend Link, we handle the practical side with care: we arrange for your reports to be reviewed, coordinate appointments with licensed hospitals, and organise travel, accommodation and interpretation. Your coordinator stays in touch throughout and after you return home, so you can focus on your health while the treating physicians guide every medical decision.
Techniques & options
Diagnosis & staging
A detailed evaluation using imaging such as PET-CT, MRI and CT, together with biopsy and pathology where needed, to establish the type and extent of the disease.
Second opinion
Your existing reports, scans and pathology findings are reviewed by oncology specialists, who share their view on the diagnosis and possible treatment options.
Multidisciplinary tumour board
Medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, radiologists and pathologists discuss your case together to agree on a coordinated treatment plan.
Surgical oncology
Removal of tumours where surgery is appropriate, including minimally invasive and, where available, robotic-assisted techniques, depending on the case.
Chemotherapy, targeted therapy & immunotherapy
Systemic treatments chosen according to the tumour type and, where relevant, its molecular profile, given in cycles with regular monitoring.
Radiotherapy
Modern techniques such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and stereotactic approaches, designed to target the tumour while protecting surrounding healthy tissue as far as possible.

Recovery timeline
During treatment
Your team monitors how you respond and helps manage side effects. Your coordinator supports you with appointments, medication and day-to-day needs.
Between treatment cycles
Depending on your plan, you may rest in Türkiye or return home between cycles, with blood tests and check-ups arranged in advance.
After a treatment phase
Follow-up imaging and tests help your physicians assess the response and decide on the next steps together with you.
Long-term follow-up
Regular check-ups continue over the following months and years, in Türkiye or with your oncologist at home, with reports shared as needed.
Your treatment journey
Send your reports
Share your pathology results, imaging reports and files, and any treatment history. Your information is handled confidentially and passed only to the reviewing specialists.
Specialist review & written plan
Oncology specialists review your file and share an initial opinion. We then send you a proposed plan and a written quote that sets out clearly what is included.
Travel & arrival
We help with visa documents, flights and a hotel close to the hospital. A VIP transfer meets you at the airport, and your coordinator and interpreter are with you from the start.
Assessment & tumour board
Any further tests needed are completed and your case is discussed by a multidisciplinary tumour board. Your physicians then explain the recommended plan, its possible risks and side effects.
Treatment & follow-up
Treatment begins once you have agreed to the plan. Before you travel home, we make sure your reports and follow-up schedule are ready, and we stay in touch with you and your physicians at home.
What affects the cost
You receive a written, itemised quote once your reports have been reviewed — before you travel.
- The type, stage and location of the cancer
- The diagnostic tests and imaging required, such as PET-CT or biopsy
- The treatment approach: surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy or radiotherapy
- The number of treatment cycles or radiotherapy sessions
- Length of hospital stay and total time spent in Türkiye
- Prescribed medicines, plus accommodation and travel for you and your companion
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a second opinion without travelling?
Yes. You can send us your pathology report, recent imaging (ideally the image files as well as the written reports) and a summary of any treatment so far. We share these confidentially with oncology specialists, who give their opinion on the diagnosis and possible options. A remote review has its limits, and further tests or an in-person assessment may be recommended before a final plan can be made.
Which documents should I prepare?
Helpful documents include the pathology or biopsy report, imaging reports and files (CT, MRI, PET-CT), recent blood tests, any operation notes and details of chemotherapy or radiotherapy you have had. A list of your current medicines and other health conditions is also useful. If your documents are in Arabic or another language, let us know and we will help arrange translation.
Can you coordinate with my oncologist at home?
Yes. With your consent, your physicians in Türkiye can share reports and treatment summaries with your oncologist at home and discuss questions of continuity of care. This helps ensure that follow-up, tests and any further treatment can continue smoothly once you return.
How long will I need to stay in Türkiye?
It depends on your plan. An initial assessment and tumour board review typically take a few days, while surgery requires a hospital stay followed by a period of recovery. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy are given over several weeks or in cycles; depending on your case, you may stay for the whole course or travel home between cycles if your physician considers it appropriate.
Can a family member come with me?
Yes, and we encourage it. A companion can offer both emotional and practical support throughout treatment. We include your companion's accommodation, transfers and, where needed, visa documents in your plan, and your coordinator is available to you both around the clock.
Will I understand everything my doctors tell me?
Clear communication is especially important in cancer care. Medical interpreters join your consultations, so you and your family can ask questions and clearly understand the diagnosis, the options and any possible side effects. You will also receive written reports that you can keep and share with your doctors at home.
