Dental Treatments & Smile Design
Dental treatment covers a wide range, from replacing missing teeth to correcting the colour and shape of your smile. Implants replace missing teeth using titanium posts placed in the jawbone, while zirconia crowns and porcelain or E-max veneers aim to improve how teeth look and function. For patients who have lost all their teeth, implant-supported fixed bridges such as All-on-4 or All-on-6 may be considered.
For a healthy, lasting result, oral health comes before aesthetics. Treatment therefore begins with a dental examination, a panoramic X-ray and, where needed, a 3D CT scan. Any gum disease, decay or bone loss is addressed first. Your dentist listens to what you would like to achieve, explains the suitable options with their benefits and limitations, and builds your treatment plan accordingly.
Türkiye is a popular choice for dental care thanks to its experienced dentists, clinics equipped with digital smile design and CAD/CAM technology, and a strong balance of quality and value. At Trend Link, we coordinate everything for you — from the initial review of your X-rays and photos and a written quote to travel, accommodation and follow-up after you return home.
Techniques & options
Dental implants
A titanium post that replaces the root of a missing tooth is placed in the jawbone. Once it has fused with the bone, a permanent tooth is fitted on top.
All-on-4 / All-on-6
A fixed bridge is secured on four or six implants in a jaw with no teeth. In suitable patients, temporary fixed teeth may be fitted shortly after surgery.
Zirconia crowns
Metal-free crowns that are strong and natural-looking. They are often chosen for worn, broken, discoloured or root-filled teeth.
E-max and porcelain veneers
Thin ceramic shells bonded to the front of the teeth. They can correct mild issues with shape, colour and gaps while removing less tooth structure than crowns.
Hollywood smile and whitening
Smile design combines crowns, veneers, whitening and gum contouring to create a smile in harmony with your face. Whitening alone aims to lighten your natural tooth colour by a few shades.
Gum aesthetics
An excessive or uneven gum line is reshaped using laser or minor surgical techniques. It is often planned as part of a smile makeover.
Is it right for you?
- People missing one or more teeth who have enough jawbone (or are suitable for bone grafting)
- Those who have lost all their teeth or wish to move from removable dentures to fixed teeth
- Anyone with worn, chipped, discoloured or misshapen teeth
- Patients with good oral health who want to improve the harmony and colour of their smile
- People whose gum disease is under control and who are committed to good oral hygiene
- Those with well-controlled conditions such as diabetes; smokers who are prepared to stop or cut down during healing
Recovery timeline
First 2–3 days
Temporary sensitivity to hot and cold is common after crowns and veneers. After implants, swelling, mild pain and bruising may occur; soft foods and the medication your dentist recommends help.
First week
Swelling and sensitivity ease noticeably and most people return to daily life. You begin getting used to your new teeth and bite, and any stitches are removed.
Months 3–6
Implants fuse with the jawbone (osseointegration). At the end of this period, usually on a second visit, your permanent implant teeth are fitted.
Long term
Regular brushing, flossing and dental check-ups are essential to protect your restorations and gum health. If you grind your teeth at night, a protective night guard may be recommended.
Your treatment journey
Initial review
You share a recent panoramic X-ray and photos of your smile; the dentist carries out an initial review and outlines suitable treatment options.
Written plan and quote
You receive a written plan and quote covering the treatments, estimated number of sessions and length of stay, including whether implants will need a second visit.
Examination and digital planning
After you arrive in Istanbul, the clinic carries out an examination, X-rays or a CT scan and, where relevant, a digital smile design; your plan is then finalised with your dentist.
Treatment sessions
Tooth preparation, impressions, try-ins and fitting, or implant surgery, take place under local anaesthesia over several sessions. Your interpreter and coordinator are on hand throughout.
Final check and follow-up
At your final appointment, your bite and new teeth are checked and you receive aftercare instructions. Once you are home, your patient coordinator remains available for any questions.
What affects the cost
You receive a written, itemised quote once your reports have been reviewed — before you travel.
- The number of teeth to be treated and the type of treatment
- The material chosen (zirconia, E-max, porcelain) and the implant system
- Whether preliminary work such as bone grafting, a sinus lift or gum treatment is needed
- The number of sessions and visits required
- The length of your stay and choice of hotel
- The scope of services such as transfers, interpreting and a companion
Frequently asked questions
Is dental treatment painful?
Most procedures are carried out under local anaesthesia, so you usually feel only pressure or vibration rather than pain during treatment. Some sensitivity is common for a few days afterwards, and implants may also cause swelling and mild pain. These are usually managed with the pain relief your dentist recommends.
When will I see the results?
With crowns, veneers and whitening, you see the result once treatment is complete, usually within the same visit. With implants, the bone typically needs 3–6 months to heal around them; temporary teeth can be worn in the meantime, and permanent teeth are fitted on a later visit.
What are the risks?
With implants, possible risks include infection, the implant not fusing with the bone and, rarely, nerve or sinus problems. Crowns and veneers can cause tooth sensitivity or may chip or come loose, and the tooth reduction needed to prepare them cannot be reversed. That is why your dentist should recommend a conservative plan that preserves as much natural tooth as possible and explain the risks beforehand.
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
The right treatment depends on the condition of your teeth and gums, your bone, your bite and what you hope to achieve. The dentist makes an initial assessment from your X-rays and photos, and the final plan is confirmed after the examination and imaging in Istanbul. In some cases, veneers, whitening or gum treatment alone may be enough instead of crowns.
How long do I need to stay in Türkiye?
For crowns and veneers, a stay of about 5–7 days is typical. Implant treatment usually involves two visits: a first trip of a few days for surgery, then a second trip of around a week, 3–6 months later, for the permanent teeth. Your exact schedule is set out in your dentist's plan.
What follow-up is there once I return home?
You receive written aftercare instructions and a record of the treatment carried out, so your own dentist can continue your check-ups. Your patient coordinator passes any questions on to your treating dentist. If you notice sensitivity, swelling or a problem with a restoration, you can reach us 24/7.
